For my first give-away, I've chosen "Mammals of Pennsylvania".
This is my copy, the giveaway one actually looks in better shape! |
To enter, just leave a comment. If you are game ;-) , tell me if you were an animal, what animal would you like to be? (Remember my post about chipmunks, and how-- come February I sometimes think I'd like to be one? If not, you can read it by clicking here.)
My choice would be a chippy! |
"What could be better than a basset?" |
Or, just leave a comment telling me you'd like to win the book. Or, just leave a comment saying what animal you'd like to be but that you don't care about winning the book. See, I'm giving you lots of options. I'm very flexible. Just, someone please leave a comment so I don't feel sad and start looking like Ruby. (no offense, Ruby!)
Next Sunday I will pick a winner by random drawing and post it in the comment section. I'm looking forward to your comments! Thanks!
I would like to be a labrador retriever or a golden retriever. Most people love them and they seem to be content most of the time. Basset hounds are just too close to the ground for me to want to be one (sorry, Ruby!).
ReplyDeleteI would definitely like to win a book! :)
I'd like to be a bird not too fussy about what type but maybe something pretty like a gold finch or red-wing blackbird no vultures thank you It's me Helen.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy. This is Barb Stone. I'm with Helen, I have to use anonymous because I'm I T challenged. Anyway...I enjoy your blog as I am a nature lover also. If it wasn't for hunting season, I would opt to be a bear. That being said, I guess I'll choose Bald Eagle. Don't tell Ruby, but I'll pass on being a basset. I had one growing up; she was my best friend. But, oh my, do they smell bad! I already have an updated copy of the book you are offering, so you can pass me by on entering.
ReplyDeleteHi Mom,
ReplyDeleteJust yesterday I said to Luke in the car "I wish I was Ruby, because then I could sleep all of the time!" So my vote would probably go for Ruby.
But I'm also torn between wanting to be some of the animals I've seen who live in beautiful places in the world - like clownfish at Rempi, or Rainbow Bee-eaters at Ukarumpa, or maybe the tree kangaroos at Mus! So many to choose from :-)
I guess it doesn't really matter which I pick, because I don't think I should win the prize anyway, being family and all :-) I'm sure you'd let me borrow your copy if I ever wanted to!
Hi, Nancy;
ReplyDeleteI'm late with my comment but that's part of retirement! As for my choice to be...I guess I'm with Ruby. The idea of being "man's best friend" has some appeal to me, as does her desire for exploration, her delight in going for a walk, and last, but not least, a pat on the head isn't so bad.
I enjoy your blog, keep it going.

Hi Mom-
ReplyDeleteThis was a tricky choice! I think I'll have to be a bird of some sort...get to stay in cozy little spaces, eat berries and of course FLY!! :) As for a kind of bird, I definitely want to be one that can come to your feeders because I know I'll be well taken care of! A nuthatch would be fun, with how they can climb up and down trees. :)
Love,
Laura
