Two mallards and goose nearby
Seem strange company
Winter has not come with ice
Hiding tasty bites
Savor while you can
Tidbits under ripples brown
Surely winter comes
Playing childrens games?
Duck, duck, and Canada Goose
Eat, rest, maybe stretch
O ache of injured wing
Flight a long forgotten thing
Overhead, flocks fly.
Flock of Canada geese, migrating southward on December 28 |
Now they fly quickly southward
Away from hunger.
One who cannot join
In the rush, hopes for the best
And, just perhaps, trusts
That lady who goes
walking by, a cup of corn
Needed, will supply.
You're a pretty amazing lady...a poet on top of everything else!! :)

Oh, Laura, Thanks! (I'm no where near amazing, or even a good poet, but I have fun).

Well, that was fun. (not for the goose of course) love to see the pictures and for some reason upside down ducks. Thanks for your lovely blog. Have a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHelen, Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Ducks are always fun, but especially upside-down ones.
